Breaking Free from Narcissistic Parents: Mindset Mastery
Monday Aug 03, 2020
Monday Aug 03, 2020
We're back with a rebranded segment today. Welcome to the "Mindset Mastery" on combating narcissistic parents in our life. This is an add-on from our "Toxic family members" episode. The link for that episode is below.
If you have ever grown up with a narcissistic parent or other relatives, you know just how difficult it could be. You never feel like you could be yourself, every move you make is the wrong one and you question every decision you've ever made. You get into constant fights and feel even more defeated and guilty for speaking your mind after.
The hope by the end of this episode is to get you thinking a new way about handling this difficult situation. A way that you can come out on top and not feel guilty for just being you.
Three big takeaways from today's episode: 1. It is not the parent's fault they are a narcissist. 2. negative fuels negative, positive destroys negative. 3. Distance and cutting ties are the best for both of you.

Today, Dave sits down with the father of six Marcus Silva. Marcus is like many fathers out there whereas he had a tough custody battle when he and his first wife separated. Marcus agreed to sit down and share his experiences during and after the separation and how he coped with the custody battle. But that's not all. Marcus talks about mental health, continuing to build a relationship with your significant other, and more.
Marcus and his wife started a crafting side project during COVID. This allowed them to earn some extra money, and grow their relationship. You can check out Silva Custom Crafts on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/silvacustomcrafts/

Price of Child Safety?
Monday Jul 27, 2020
Monday Jul 27, 2020
The time is coming. You're setting up the registry for your little one. As you pick and choose what's going to be the safest for your little bundle, you start to notice something. The prices you're seeing are crazy!
We hear it all the time, "the more something costs, the safer it has to be, right?" That's not always the case in most instances. You want to make sure your child is safe but is the cost the ultimate decider?
Dave and Ryan break down the prices and stats today for car seats, strollers, diaper bags, and more. What's the best price for a car seat? Does my child really need that ultimate snack dispensary system with DVD and satellite TV system? Will the 45 lbs of extra padding really keep my kid safe? Why would someone build a diaper cake?
All this and more in today's episode. Here are your three takeaways: 1. Going generic besides name brand is just as good. 2. Car Seat laws differ from state to state (and bonus) make sure you check your car seats expiration date. 3. Don't let other's opinions on what you need dictate you're true needs.

Too Coincidental to be A Coincidence with Chris Solomon
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Today Ryan takes over the interviewing duties and it's a good one. Ryan sits down with retired Air Force veteran and father of 3 Chris Solomon. Chris has a very unique situation raising 2 girls and 1 son. His 11-year-old son was adopted from Ukraine with Down Syndrome.
Chris agreed to sit down with us and go through adopting his son and how the universe tied everything up. This is one you honestly don't want to miss.
If there is anything you take away from today's episode, it should be these three things: 1. Your past is set in stone but gives a great framework to build and become better. 2. Maximize the time you have with your kids even if it's not the most ideal of situations. 3. Life is too coincidental to be a coincidence. Life has a way of putting you where you need to be.
Chris helps his oldest daughter with a podcast called "Gracie Meets" where she interviews people in unique jobs for teens who are unsure of what they want to be after school. You can find more at www.mindonmymission.com

Monday Jul 20, 2020
Ryan's Solo today dads! He's out there in what is being called "Ryan's Rants". You know he likes the numbers, and he's dialing them up today.
One of the hardest things to do is having some kind of savings. Having some kind of savings for our kids is a constant worry. It doesn't have to bring you down.
Ryan breaks down different savings plans you could start today to set your children up in the future. One of them could even give over 1 million dollars by the time they retire.
Get ready to take notes, there is one thing in here sure to spark some ideas.

Being A Father and Living with Tourette's with Matt Painter
Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Dave O sits down with a 22-year-old father of two Matt Painter. Matt lives with Tourette's Syndrome, a disorder that causes repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics). (Per our guest, majority of tics have been left in) Matt doesn't let his diagnosis stop him from being a Fearless Father.
Matt brings the heat in today's episode, and if there is anything you take away from this episode, it's these three things. 1. Just smile when it's tough and your kids will radiate that. 2. When you think positive, negative thoughts start to fade. 3. When you study for what's on the test, you miss the things that truly matter.

Its Episode 25! Kids Leashes: Pet or Protection? You Decide
Monday Jul 13, 2020
Monday Jul 13, 2020
It's Episode 25! For the quarter episode we're doing something slightly different, but keeping with being a Fearless Father.
Kids Leashes, Tethers, anything that keeps your little one close by. Are they worth it? Is it cruel? Are they worth the Karen side eyes? You decide.
This one stays pretty lighthearded
Ryan and Dave have differing views on this, for good reason. If your little one is wanting more independence, its something you'll have to decide.
Three takeaways for today: 1. Having a plan when you take your child out is priority one 2. If you leash/tether, it doesnt become a babysitter 3. If there is a bear in your yard, dont name them Pickles (its already taken).

Thursday Jul 09, 2020
Thursday Jul 09, 2020
Welcome to Part 2 of 2 of our divorced mini-series. Today we're getting raw and uncut (Ok, some slight editing, but not a lot). Dave-O shares his story of being a child of divorce and how it shaped him into the father he is today.
To parents that grew up in divorced households or those currently going through a divorce, this is for you. Take that one thing that resonates with you and embrace that fear.
As always, here are your three takeaways for the episode: 1) Take what was negative in the divorce and turn it to better your kids. 2) Self-Awareness in a bad spot can bring positive results 3) Study your opponents on the table and know when to go all in.

Divorce Series Part 1: Mentally handling it for you and your child
Monday Jul 06, 2020
Monday Jul 06, 2020
This is part 1 of 2 for our divorce mini-series. We all know the adage, 50% of all marriage ends up in divorce. It holds true courtesy of the CDC and Census. What doesn't get talked about much is how divorce affects the WHOLE family...including you and your child. Something that has such a negative outlook, there can't be anything positive I can do, right? That's where you're wrong. Line your mindset upright, and you'll be able to handle one of the toughest things fathers face.
This episode focuses on all aspects of the divorce from when it happens, to custody battles, to the mental health of your child. This one is PACKED with information and we just scratched the surface. Take notes, there's something in there for everyone.
Three huge takeaways for today's episode: 1. As hard as it is, take your emotions out of it and remember your child is suffering too. 2. Do NOT put your child in the middle of you and your ex. 3. Keep a calm head, and know the storm can and will pass.

Nurture those Fandom's with Mark Halberg
Thursday Jul 02, 2020
Thursday Jul 02, 2020
Today, Dave-O sits down with Mark Halberg. Mark is the father of one amazing boy. His son came as a surprise to himself and his wife. He saw his word flip 180 after a devastating MMA accident. He takes the negative in his life and turns it into something AMAZING for his family. He left his comfortable job in sales to take something less stress-free and give him more time with his child, even if it was a pay cut.
He just started "The Fandom Effect" Podcast. A podcast for all things fandom from gaming, anime, MMA, and more where he interviews anyone about how they got into their fandom's.
Three takeaways in today's episode.
1. Don't be afraid to take a step back if it means a happier life for you and your family.
2. 10 minutes to build memories with your children will last a lifetime.
3. Start instilling their own fandom's and build passion
